Those frequently asked questions…
When should I order my invitations?
It’s never too early! Just as soon as the details of your big day have been finalised (date, venue, time) then it’s time to start planning your stationery order. Traditionally, invitations were sent out 6 weeks prior to a wedding, but these days it’s much more common to send them 2-3 months in advance (even earlier if your guests will have to plan travel and accommodation).
Can I request a free sample?
Yes, of course. The first sample is free of charge – if you’d like more than one sample then we ask for £1 per card to cover postage.
How long will printing take?
It varies depending on time of year and level of orders, but at the moment it’s around 2-3 weeks (keep checking the website for current timings). Remember that all my cards are printed to order especially for you – I’m sure you’ll agree they’re worth the wait!
We’re on a budget – can we ask for discount?
At the start of 2020 I took the decision not to increase my prices (despite the cost of raw materials having increased). I regularly check my prices against those of my competitors and feel I offer excellent value for money – in addition I make no charge for preparing artwork or sending out proofs. So, to cut a long story short – I’m afraid Im not able to offer discount!
Can I get them done more quickly if I pay extra?
I’m sometimes able to offer a Fast Track Service (depending on my workload) which incurs a 25% surcharge. If you’re having a last minute panic, please ask for availability!
What if I need more copies of my cards?
I’ll keep your artwork on disk until after the date of your wedding, so you’re welcome to order extra copies if you find you need them later. Remember though that at busy times you might have to wait a little while to receive them – instead, why not think about ordering a few extras when you place your initial order?
Help! How do I get my photos to you?
If you’re ordering a design that uses photos (such as “Guess Who” or “Passport”) and need to send me your photograph(s), you can either scan them and email them across, or if it’s easier you can just pop them in the post and I’ll scan them here for you. If you’re scanning them yourself, see if you can set your scanner to 300dpi (dots per inch) and then save them as jpg files. If you’re at all unsure, feel free to post them (it’s worth paying a little extra to send them via Special Delivery though, so that you can track-and-trace them).
Do I have to order everything at once?
No, you might find it easier to order your invitations first of all and then come back a little closer to the time of your wedding to place your order for placecards, menus, orders of service, etc.
Can we order our thank you cards after our honeymoon?
Again, remember that if you’re ordering at a busy time it could be a couple of weeks before you receive your cards – meaning your guests will be waiting a while for their thank you notes! Instead, you might prefer to order them at the same time as your wedding day stationery (orders of service, placecards, etc) so that you have them ready to write/send as soon as possible.
Are envelopes included?
Yes, good quality white envelopes are included free-of-charge with day invitations, evening invitations and thank you cards.
How much will I be charged for postage & packing?
Smaller orders will normally be sent by Royal Mail First Class Post – larger parcels will be sent by Parcelforce courier, so that you’re able to track-and-trace online, and the contents are insured should the unthinkable happen! The exact amount for p&p will of course depend on the weight of the parcel.
Can I have the cards printed in a different colour?
Yes, with most designs the text/images can be printed in any colour of your choice – the only limitation is that I’m afraid I can’t offer metallic inks (so no shiny silver or gold) but any other colour is usually fine.
I’d like a bespoke design created, is this possible?
Just bring me your ideas and I’ll create the perfect stationery for your wedding!
Am I able to have my invitations printed in another language?
Yes (as long as you can supply me with the text!). So far, I’ve printed invitations in French, German, Italian, Swedish, Finnish, Spanish, Portuguese, Afrikaans, Hungarian and Polish.
How can I pay?
I can supply details for you to make a bank transfer if you use internet banking. Alternatively, you can give me a call to pay by debit/credit card. If you have a PayPal account I can send you a PayPal invoice.
